Congratulations to the March Rotary Students of the Month
Congratulations to seniors Hannah Hipple and Derek Proctor who were selected as the March Rotary Students of the Month. They each received a certificate from Rotary, celebrated with a special luncheon, and became eligible for a scholarship.
Hannah is from Williamsport, PA and arrived at MHS as a fifth-grader. She is President of the National Honor Society where she participates in community service projects. She also serves as Secretary of the Senior Caucus for SGA, is a student ambassador, and participates in Indoor Color Guard and Marching Band. Hannah also is involved in SkillsUSA and participated in the School’s first international trip to Eastern Europe as part of the multicultural and global education program at MHS. Hannah plans to attend the Culinary Institute of America to study business management in the hopes of owning her own bakery or café.
Derek is originally from Philadelphia, PA and enrolled at MHS as a fifth-grader. He is active in the Visual and Performing Arts program at MHS and performs with New Horizons, Varsity Choir, and String Ensemble. He was selected for the 2017 National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Honors Chorus and will perform at the NAfME festival in April. Derek plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania to major in Music Education in the hopes of teaching music to high school students.
Milton Hershey School partners with Rotary to create leadership and community service opportunities for MHS students. Please congratulate these students when you see them on campus!
